Try the Latin mass on Sunday at 1:30

As you can see, it is quite easy to follow the Latin mass.
The whole mass is so beautiful, and reverent, as
it was meant to be. To turn it into the Protestant
celebration, with hand clapping, shouting, dressing
up as clowns by the priests, having people dancing
around the altar, was not the intention originally
set forth by the Apostles.
Not meaning to demean the Ordino Mass, which for
those who are just fulfilling their obligation, works for them, but to those who wish to show reverence, and receive the full measure of blessings, you will gravitate sooner, or later,
to the reverence of the Latin Mass.
Do you Catholics realize that you are receiving
the Body,Blood,Soul, and Divinity of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and that he is present there on the
Altar? Do you understand that you are becoming one
with our Lord as you receive the Host?
I am changed each time I receive our Lord at Mass, and ask for him to become Blood of my Blood,
Flesh of my Flesh, and to make me free of Sin, and to make my Soul his dwelling place.
Just like a cleaned piece of furniture, which is sparkling new when cleaned, but one week later,
it must be dusted, and sprayed to be kept like new,
so to , must we go to confession very often.
Not for just the big sins we may commit, but for the little ones that lead to the bigger ones.
Just as the dust, if not cleaned up, will become
embedded into the wood, and grow to the point that
real cleaning, and rubbing with force is needed to
restore it, so to must the dust on our souls, be
cleaned regularly.
Would you want to live in filth and dirt, and the stench that comes from that? If that same stench and odor came up from your soul, would you be able to ignore that? It is something that you will have to pay for, after your time on earth is ended, and those that are faithful Catholics should read
a book called "Purgatory", and read what the Saints have written about it. It is just as real as everything you experience in your life, and I
am sure that it will change your outlook on things
you do every day. Do not think that I don't have to ask for forgiveness 100 times a day, for the things I say or think. Praying is the only way that
I try to keep myself on the right path, leading to
the NARROW GATE, not the WIDE GATE, that leads to
HELL, but to wash away those sins, and be "Clean",we must go to confession regularly.
This is not to admonish anyone, but to have you
realize that we are all sinners, and need to be constantly reminded of our faults, that could lead to sins.
Praying for your souls and mine in Jesus,
Itzik

The Latin Mass revisited!

C. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen. Introibo ad altare Dei.
C. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. I will go in to the altar of God.

R. Ad Deum, qui laetificat juventutem meam.
R. To God, who gives joy to my youth.

C. Judica me, Deus, et discerne causam meam de gente non sancta: ab homine iniquo et doloso erue me.
C. Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from an ungodly nation: deliver me from an unjust and deceitful enemy.

R. Quia tu es, Deus, fortitudo mea: quare me repulisti, et quare tristis incedo, dum affligit me inimicus?
R. For you are my strength, O God: why have you cast me off? Why do I go around sadly while the enemy afflicts me?

C. Emitte lucem tuam, et veritatem tuam: ipsa me deduxerunt et adduxerunt in montem sanctum tuum, et in tabernacula tua.
C. Send out Your light and Your truth; they have led me and brought me to Your holy hill, into Your tabernacles.

R. Et introibo ad altare Dei: ad Deum qui laetificat juventutem meam.
R. And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who gives joy to my youth.

C. Confitebor tibi in cithara, Deus, Deus meus: quare tristis es anima mea, et quare conturbas me? C. I will praise you on the harp, O God, my God. Why are you sad, my soul, and why do you trouble me?

R. Spera in Deo, quoniam adhuc confitebor illi: salutare vultus mei, et Deus meus.
R. Hope in God, for I will continue to praise Him, my salvation and my God.

The priest bows his head to the Cross for the Gloria Patri, at the end of the psalm - and at any other time the prayer is said during Mass.

C. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto.
C. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost..

C. Adjutorium nostrum in nomine Domini.
C. Our help is in the name of the Lord.

R. Qui fecit coelum et terram.
R. Who made heaven and earth.

In a humble confession of his sins before God and the people, the priest bows profoundly with his hands joined and begins the Confiteor. This prayer recalls the confession of the Jewish priests of the Old Law before they offered sacrifice. At the mea culpa, the priest places his left hand below his breast and strikes his breast three times with the extended and joined fingers of his right hand.

C. Confiteor Deo omnipotenti, beatae Mariae semper Virgini, beato Michaeli Archangelo, beato Joanni Baptistae, sanctis apostolis Petro et Paulo, omnibus sanctis, et vobis, fratres: quia peccavi nimis cogitatione, verbo, et opere: mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. Ideo precor beatam Mariam semper Virginem, beatum Michaelum Archangelum, beatum Joannem Baptistam, sanctos apostolos Petrum et Paulum, omnes sanctos, et vos, fratres, orare pro me ad Dominum Deum nostrum.

C. I confess to Almighty God, to blessed Mary ever virgin, to blessed Michael the archangel, to blessed John the Baptist, to the holy apostles Peter and Paul, to all the saints and to you, brethren, that I have sinned exceedingly in thought, word and deed (strikes breast three times): through my fault, through my fault, through my own most grievous fault. Therefore I beseech blessed Mary ever Virgin, blessed Michael the archangel, blessed John the Baptist, the holy apostles Peter and Paul, all the saints and you, brethren, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

C. Aufer a nobis, quaesumus, Domine, iniquitates nostras: ut ad sancta sanctorum puris mereamur mentibus introire. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.
C. Lord, we pray you to take away our wickedness from us, so that we may worthily enter into the Holy of Holies with pure minds, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Bowing moderately, the priest rests his joined hands on the edge of the altar, the tips of his little fingers against the front of the edge as he says silently the Oramus te Domine. Recalling the saints whose relics are in the altar, he places his hands flat on the altar outside the corporal, and kisses it in the middle.

C. Oramus te, Domine, per merita sanctorum tuorum, quorum reliquae hic sunt, et omnium sanctorum: ut indulgere digneris omnia peccata mea. Amen.
C. We beseech You, Lord, by the merits of Your saints whose relics are here, and of all the saints, to deign to forgive me all my sins. Amen.

Continuing the prayer, the priest then moves directly to the Epistle side where, facing the altar, he makes the Sign of the Cross and begins, in an audible voice, the Proper of the Day by reciting the Introit with his hands joined. This Sign of the Cross marked the opening of the liturgy at the time of St Patrick. The Introit was formerly a psalm sung as the priest entered the church - hence the word introit. At the Gloria Patri, the priest turns slightly and bows towards the crucifix. He does not cross himself when repeating the antiphon.

After the Introit, the priest returns to the centre of the altar. With joined hands and without bowing to the crucifix, he immediately begins the Kyrie, the only surviving Greek prayer in the Mass, taken from a fourth century Byzantine rite.

Introit, Kyrie,
Gloria

C. Kyrie eleison. C. Lord, have mercy.

R. Kyrie eleison. R. Lord, have mercy.

C. Kyrie eleison. C. Lord, have mercy.

R. Christe eleison. R. Christ have mercy.

C. Christe eleison. C. Christ have mercy.

R. Christe eleison. R. Christ have mercy.

C. Kyrie eleison. C. Lord, have mercy.

R. Kyrie eleison. R. Lord, have mercy.

C. Kyrie eleison. C. Lord, have mercy.

As soon as the Kyrie is finished, the priest starts the Gloria, the canticle of praise to the Trinity, attributed to Pope Telesphorus 130 years after Christ.(The Gloria is omitted when the vestments are black or violet and during certain votive Masses.) As the priest begins the prayer, he separates his hands horizontally and raises them to shoulder level before rejoining them and bowing his head at the word Deo. Standing erect, with hands joined, he continues to the end, reading from the centre altar card if necessary. He bows to the crucifix at the words adoramus te, gratias agimus, Jesu Christe, suscipe deprecationem and Jesu Christe again. At the words cum Sancto Spiritu he makes the Sign of the Cross. After the Amen, without rejoining his hands, he places his hands outside the corporal and kisses the centre of the altar.

C. Gloria in excelsis Deo, et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis. Laudamus te, benedicimus te, adoramus te, glorificamus te, gratias agimus tibi propter magnam gloriam tuam: Domine Deus, Rex coelestis, Deus Pater omnipotens. Domine Fili unigenite, Jesu Christe: Domine Deus, Agnus Dei, Filius Patris: Qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis; qui tollis peccata mundi, suscipe deprecationem nostram; qui sedes ad dexteram Patris, miserere nobis. Quoniam tu solus Sanctus, tu solus Dominus, tu solus Altissimus: Jesu Christe, cum Sancto Spiritu: in gloria Dei Patris. Amen.
C. Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to men of goodwill. We praise You, we bless You, we adore You, we glorify You, we give You thanks for Your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father. Lord Jesus Christ, only-begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, You take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; You take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; You are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are Lord, You alone are Most High: Jesus Christ, with the Holy Ghost in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Rejoining his hands and turning by the Epistle side with downcast eyes, the priest greets the people with the Dominus vobiscum, while extending his hands to the width of his shoulders horizontally, rejoining them and turning back by the Epistle side.

C. Dominus vobiscum
C. The Lord be with you.

R. Et cum spiritu tuo.
R. And with your spirit.

Collect, Epistle,Gospel
From the center of the altar, the priest moves to the Missal. Facing the altar, he says Oremus, bowing his head to the Cross, extending his hands to shoulder height and width, rejoining them and extending them again. During the reading of the ancient Collects, the priest bows his head to the Cross at the Holy Name and bows his head to the Missal at the name of Mary, the Saint of the day or the Pope. At the end of the prayer, on the words per Dominum or in unitate, the priest rejoins his hands for the Amen.

After the Collects comes the first lesson, the Epistle. The priest places the palms of his hands on the Missal during the reading - though he may pick up the book if he wishes. He may give a sign to the server that the reading is over by raising his left hand or laying it on the altar momentarily.
The response Deo gratias was originally a sign from the presiding Bishop that the reading had gone on long enough!

R. Deo gratias.
R. Thanks be to God.
Following the Epistle come the Gradual, Alleluia or Tract and, on five major feastdays, the Sequence. These are the remnants of the chants which separated the original three lessons at Mass. The priest reads them aloud, still holding the Missal, and bows as during the Collects.

From the Epistle side, the priest moves with joined hands to the centre of the altar where he lifts his eyes to the Cross, then casts them down and bows profoundly - without laying his hands on the altar - to say silently the Munda cor meum, a fourteenth century prayer asking God to purify his lips and heart.

C. Munda cor meum ac labia mea, omnipotens Deus, qui labia Isaiae prophetae calculo mundasti ignito: ita me tua grata miseratione dignare mundare, ut sanctum Evangelium tuum digne valeam nuntiare. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. Amen.
C. Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, who cleansed the lips of the prophet Isaias with a live coal. In your mercy, deign to cleanse me so I may be worthy to proclaim Your holy Gospel: through Christ our Lord. Amen.

C. Jube, Domine, benedicere. Dominus sit in corde meo et in labiis meis: ut digne et competenter annuntiem Evangelium suum. Amen.
C. Bless me, O Lord. May the Lord be in my heart and on my lips, that I may be fit and worthy to proclaim His Gospel. Amen.

The Missal is moved by the server to the right hand side of the altar (so called because the right hand of the crucifix points to that side) and placed diagonally on the altar. The congregation stand to greet the word of God. Standing before the Missal with joined hands, the priest says aloud the Dominus vobiscum. At the Sequentia, the priest lays his left hand on the book, while he makes the Sign of the Cross with the thumb of his open right hand, first at the beginning of the Gospel passage. Then - with his left hand on his breast - he traces the cross with his thumb on his forehead, mouth and breast.

C. Dominus vobiscum
C. The Lord be with you.

R. Et cum spiritu tuo.
R. And with your spirit.

C. Sequentia (or Initium) sancti Evangelii secundum N.
C. A passage from (or The beginning of) the holy Gospel according to N.

R. Gloria tibi Domine.
R. Glory to You, Lord.

The priest reads the Gospel aloud with his hands joined. If he needs to bow his head or genuflect, he does so to the Missal. If he has to turn a page, he uses his right hand, laying the left on the altar. At the end of the Gospel, the priest lifts the Missal with both hands, and bows to kiss it where he signed the cross, saying the Per evangelica dicta.

C. Per evangelica dicta, deleantur nostra delictur.
C. Through the words of the Gospel, may our sins be wiped away.

R. Laus tibi, Christe.
R. Praise to You, O Christ.

Standing erect, the priest replaces the Missal on the stand which he moves diagonally closer to the middle of the altar next to the corporal. At this point, the priest may move to the pulpit or lectern to read the Epistle and Gospel in the vernacular and to deliver a sermon. If so, he removes his maniple and lays it aside.

The Epistle and Gospel readings must be according to the old calendar and may not be taken from the new rite of Mass. The 1982 Vatican instruction forbids any mixing of rites. The homily - in the people's own language - dates back to the time of the Apostles. St Paul himself preached at the Eucharist, as we read in the twentieth chapter of the Acts of the Apostles.

Following the homily, the priest moves to the centre of the altar for the Creed and, if necessary, puts his maniple back on. As he says the words Credo in unum Deum, he extends his hands, lifts them to the height of his shoulders and rejoins them at his breast, bowing at the same time to the Cross.

The Nicene Creed, which dates from the Council of Nicaea in the early fourth century, is a late addition to the liturgy, after people had become used to the declaration of faith as a protest against the heretics. The Eastern Churches first adopted the prayer in the sixth century.

From there it spread to Spain, to Gaul in the eighth century and it was only introduced in Rome in 1014 at the request of the German Emperor St Henry II. Pope Benedict VIII told the Emperor the Creed had never been needed in Rome because the Church there had never been stained by heresy!

The priest bows when he mentions the Holy Name. At the words Et incarnatus est, the priest lays his hands on the altar outside the corporal and genuflects slowly on his right knee, without bowing his head. He rises after the words Et homo factus est. The priest bows his head at the words simul adoratur. At the end of the Creed, with the words et vitam venturi saeculi, he makes the Sign of the Cross. At the Amen, the priest places his hands flat on the altar outside the corporal and kisses the altar.

Creed, Offertory,
Preface, Sanctus

Confiteor unum baptisma in remissionem peccatorum. Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum. Et vitam venturi saeculi. Amen.
C. I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, maker of everything, visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all time; God from God, light from light, true God from true God; begotten, not made, of one substance with the Father; through whom all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven,(genuflects) by the power of the Holy Ghost, He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary AND WAS MADE MAN.(stands) For our sake too, He was crucified. He suffered under Pontius Pilate and was buried. On the third day, He rose again from the dead, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Lord and giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and Son, He is adored and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. I believe in one holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

This point marks the end of the Mass of the Catechumens, that part of the liturgy which was attended by intending converts to Catholicism. What follows is the Mass of the Faithful, formerly reserved to baptized Catholics alone.

(I will continue tomorrow. I hope you have enjoyed this experience of the Holy mass in Latin with english explanations. It is a joy to experience,
and the reverence to the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord, is like no other mass!)

Deo gratias

Obama exposed!

Cloward-Piven Government
By James Simpson
It is time to cast aside all remaining doubt. President Obama is not trying to lead America forward to recovery, prosperity and strength. Quite the opposite, in fact.

In September of last year, American Thinker published my article, Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis. Part of a series, it connected then-presidential candidate Barack Obama to individuals and organizations practicing a malevolent strategy for destroying our economy and our system of government. Since then, the story of that strategy has found its way across the blogosphere, onto the airwaves of radio stations across the country, the Glenn Beck television show, Bill O'Reilly, and now Mark Levin.

The methodology is known as the Cloward-Piven Strategy, and we can all be grateful to David Horowitz and his Discover the Networks for originally exposing and explaining it to us. He describes it as:

The strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven were two lifelong members of Democratic Socialists of America who taught sociology at Columbia University (Piven later went on to City University of New York). In a May 1966 Nation magazine article titled "The Weight of the Poor," they outlined their strategy, proposing to use grassroots radical organizations to push ever more strident demands for public services at all levels of government.

The result, they predicted, would be "a profound financial and political crisis" that would unleash "powerful forces ... for major economic reform at the national level."

They implemented the strategy by creating a succession of radical organizations, most notable among them the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), with the help of veteran organizer Wade Rathke. Their crowning achievement was the "Motor Voter" act, signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1993 with Cloward and Piven standing behind him.

As we now know, ACORN was one of the chief drivers of high-risk mortgage lending that eventually led to the financial crisis. But the Motor Voter law was another component of the strategy. It created vast vulnerabilities in our electoral system, which ACORN then exploited.

ACORN's vote registration scandals throughout the U.S. are predictable fallout.

The Motor Voter law has also been used to open another vulnerability in the system: the registration of vast numbers of illegal aliens, who then reliably vote Democrat. Herein lies the real reason Democrats are so anxious for open borders, security be damned.

It should be clear to anyone with a mind and two eyes that this president and this Congress do not have our interests at heart. They are implementing this strategy on an unprecedented scale by flooding America with a tidal wave of poisonous initiatives, orders, regulations, and laws. As Rahm Emmanuel said, "A crisis is a terrible thing to waste."

The real goal of "health care" legislation, the real goal of "cap-and-trade," and the real goal of the "stimulus" is to rip the guts out of our private economy and transfer wide swaths of it over to the government to control. Do not be deluded by the propaganda. These initiatives are vehicles for change. They are not goals in and of themselves except in their ability to deliver power. They and will make matters much worse, for that is their design.

This time, in addition to overwhelming the government with demands for services, Obama and the Democrats are overwhelming political opposition to their plans with a flood of apocalyptic legislation. Their ultimate goal is to leave us so discouraged, demoralized, and exhausted that we throw our hands up in defeat. As Charles Rangel* said, "the middle class will be too distracted to fight."

These people are our enemies. They don't use guns, yet, but they are just as dangerous, determined, and duplicitous as the communists we faced in the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, and bush wars across the globe, and the Nazis we faced in World War II.

It is time we fully internalized and digested this fact, with all its ugly ramifications. These people have violated countless laws and could be prosecuted, had we the political power. Not only are their policies unconstitutional, but deliberately so -- the goal being to make the Constitution irrelevant. Their spending is off the charts and will drive us into hyperinflation, but it could be rescinded, had we the political power. These policies are toxic, but they could be stopped and reversed, had we the political power. Their ideologies are poisonous, but they could be exposed for what they are, with long jail sentences as an object lesson, had we the political power.

Every single citizen who cares about this country should be spending every minute of his or her spare time lobbying, organizing, writing, and planning. Fight every initiative they launch. It is all destructive. If we are to root out this evil, it is critical that in 2010 we elect competent, principled leaders willing to defend our Constitution and our country. Otherwise, the malevolent cabal that occupies the government today will become too entrenched.

After that, all bets are off.

Barbarians unleashed!

Just How Barbaric We've Become
This is just sad and pathetic

It's my sad duty to pass on to you this bit of news on just how badly we as a nation and a civilization have sunk. When a ban such as this is seen as a "victory", you know things are pretty damn low.

Here's some of the article from LifeSiteNews.com;

North Dakota Approves Petition for Abortion Decapitation, Skull Crushing Ban

DICKINSON, North Dakota, April 23, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A North Dakota grassroots pro-life organization is announcing the official beginning of an effort to circulate petitions for an initiated measure that would prohibit physicians from decapitating and crushing the skulls of living unborn children.

‘The Baby Decapitation and Skull Crushing Ban’ was approved for circulation by the North Dakota Secretary of State and Attorney General on Thursday. Daniel Woodard, head of the state-wide Stop Decapitation Network, aims to collect 12,844 signatures in order to place the measure on the 2010 or 2012 ballot. The ban would become law if a majority of North Dakotans vote for it.

The Petition Title reads: “This initiated measure would create a new chapter to the North Dakota Century Code making it a crime for a physician to knowingly decapitate or crush the skull of a living unborn child or to incidentally cause serious bodily injury to the mother due to a resulting skull fragment; medical treatment could be used to save the life of the mother if the death of the child is incidental to the treatment.”

“It says a lot about how far we’ve sunk as a godly nation that we would need to pass a law banning the decapitation and skull crushing of babies waiting to be born," said Woodard. "The barbarians of old were not even as savage as some abortion 'doctors.' It’s supremely ironic that we accuse Islamic governments of savagely decapitating their own people, yet they accuse Western governments of savagely decapitating their own children.

"This insane slaughter of others must stop now. None of it is justified.”

Attention Seniors:

Do you realize that in addition to cutting your coverage for medicare(which you pay for and have a deductible of $155 before you start getting coverage for MD's)
Plus the Medicare advantage that runs at least around 250 per month on Long Island, and you do not have the right to pick a better company, that costs less, and gives the same coverage, because it is in another state?
That had the Government(starting with L.B Johnson) moved all of the money you sent in, into the General Fund, and the government left you with an I.O.U., and they spent it for their pet projects, and manditory spending grants?
That the Democrats used the scare tactics of telling you that the Republicans were trying to take away your SS and Medicare?

Social Security Facts:

Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones not as whipping or snapping as you once were…) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!

Our Social Security

Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,

No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000 ($109,000 as of 2009)

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,

No longer tax deductible
(Big One…)

4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,

(Another Big One….)
Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income..

(A REALLY Big One…!!)
Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now or will someday start receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money (That had already been taxed) we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away'-- you may be interested in the following:

----------

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?

A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?

A: The Democratic Party.

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?

A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:

A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some young liberals will never learn.

But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to?

Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!! Enough is Enough!!!!

And least we forget…

A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.

“This gathering of pro-life and civil rights leaders is a unique partnership,” said Father Frank Pavone. “By joining hearts and hands and voices in this way, we can help convince Americans once and for all that abortion is the ultimate violation of human rights.”

The rides have been endorsed by African-American and pro-life leaders across the country. Catherine Davis of Georgia Right to Life noted, “In 1857, the Supreme Court, in the Dred Scott case, labeled blacks as property, denying them citizenship. The United States said no to this notion and restored personhood to blacks with the 14th Amendment. In 1973 the Supreme Court in the Roe v. Wade case again took personhood away from a class of people—the unborn. We are riding and calling on all Americans to again reject this notion by restoring the right to life to the unborn.”

The April 27 press conference will set the stage for the first Pro-life Freedom Ride, set for July 23-25. National and local pro-life leaders will gather in Birmingham for a major concert and rally - exact location and venue to be announced. A prayer vigil will take place outside an area abortion mill and then those traveling with the riders will get in the bus for the ride to Atlanta.

Join us as we begin this historic undertaking. Millions of babies are counting on us to ride for their lives.

Civil Rights Leaders Re-board the Bus for Historic Freedom Rides
By Christian Newswire Monday, April 19, 2010
The following is submitted by Priests for Life:

* The Freedom Riders of 1961 took their lives in their hands to protest the injustice of segregation. This summer, Priests for Life and its supporters will stage Pro- life Freedom Rides along those various routes. This time we will be speaking up for the lives of the unborn.

* The Freedom Riders took their action to test a Supreme Court ruling that struck down segregation laws. We will ride to protest a ruling by that same court that legalized the murder of a whole class of human beings.

* The Freedom Riders sought to change the culture of racism in the U.S. We seek to transform the culture of death into the culture of life.

Join us as we kick off this campaign with a press conference on April 27.

"“German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques”

Cardinal Roger Mahony blasts recently adopted Arizona immigration law

Los Angeles Cardinal Roger Mahony has come down hard a law passed by the Arizona legislature that has been described in the press as “one of the toughest illegal immigration laws in the United States.” The bill would make it a crime in Arizona to be in the state illegally and give local police the power to enforce federal immigration laws. (And this is a bad thing?)

Writing on Sunday, April 18, on “Cardinal Roger Mahony Blogs L.A.,” the Archbishop of Los Angeles called the Arizona law “the country's most retrogressive, mean-spirited, and useless anti-immigrant law… The tragedy of the law is its totally flawed reasoning: that immigrants come to our country to rob, plunder, and consume public resources. That is not only false, the premise is nonsense.” (The good Cardinal is lying, and he knows it. Illegal aliens cost the taxpayers of this nations billions and billions of tax dollars every year. And Mahony knows it.)

Cardinal Mahony raised an alarming scenario in his commentary on the new Arizona law: “I can't imagine Arizonans now reverting to German Nazi and Russian Communist techniques whereby people are required to turn one another in to the authorities on any suspicion of documentation,” he wrote. (This is patently pathetic. The law enforcement officials of this nation have just been compared to Nazis and Communist thugs. Shame on Roger Mahony.... SHAME!)

My Comments
Cardinal Mahony, had better get his facts straight:
Kidnapping Capitol of America, Second in the World
Published Wednesday, by Lacey Loftin

It has been reported that Phoenix, Arizona has become the kidnapping capital of America. With 370 cases alone last year, Phoenix is now second in the world only to Mexico City. Phoenix Police Chief Andy Anderson says the Mexican Drug Cartels have ‘expanded business across the border’ from Texas to California. News investigations discovered cases of chopped-off hands, legs and heads when a victim’s families don’t pay quickly enough. A majority of the victims are illegal aliens whose families back in Mexico are contacted for ransom. To combat the crime wave, the Phoenix police created the Home Invasion Task Force, a special unit comprised of officers from all departments.

According to the Department of Justice, kidnapping makes up 2% of all violent crimes against juveniles. Risk of kidnapping steadily increases with age, increases greatly from 10-35 years, after which the risk steadily decreases. Several distinct kinds of kidnapping exist: 49% of all kidnappings are “family kidnappings,” 27% are “acquaintance kidnappings,” and 24% are “stranger kidnappings.” The FBI states that 85% to 90% of the 876,213 persons reported missing in 2000 were juveniles. Between 1982 and 2000, the number of persons kidnapped in a year has risen 468%

Those remarks by Mahony should be saved for the Leaders of our Country, who are trying to subvert our Constitution

Bishop Brandt Blocks Expansion Efforts of Nuns who Supported Health Bill

By James Tillman

GREENSBURG, PA, April 19, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com )-- The Sisters of St. Joseph in Baden, Pennsylvania opposed the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops by supporting the Health Care Reform Bill. Now Bishop Lawrence E. Brandt of Greensburg has withdrawn his diocese's support for their community by prohibiting the use of any diocesan media or parishes in their recruitment efforts.

"He has the right to disapprove a request from a religious community that wants to host a recruitment event when that community has taken a public stance in opposition to the Church's teaching on human life," said diocesan spokesman Jerry Zufelt.

“Furthermore an environment of dissent and public opposition to the positions of the U.S. Catholic bishops does not provide an appropriate seedbed for vocations."

The Sisters of St. Joseph had signed a letter written by NETWORK, a Catholic "social justice" lobbying group, which urged members of Congress "to cast a life affirming 'yes' vote" to the Senate Health Care Reform Bill. The USCCB as well as countless pro-life organizations had opposed the bill as seriously flawed and as opening the floodgates to federal funding of abortion.

Afterwards, the Sisters of St. Joseph requested promotional support from Greensburg parishes for a vocations awareness program called "Explore," which was meant to show teenage girls what it was like to be a sister. They were refused because of their signing of the letter.

Msgr. Lawrence T. Persico, the Greensburg diocese's vicar general, wrote a letter on April 8 to diocesan priests stating that no diocesan office, the diocesan newspaper, or any parish or event would "would promote a vocation awareness program of any religious community that has taken a stance against the United States bishops by being a signatory of the Network document."

Sister Mary Pellegrino, moderator of the leadership team of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Baden, claimed that "based on our prayerful discernment and careful research" there would be no public funding of abortion caused by the bill.

"It would not violate the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Church," she said. Her community has requested that the diocese reverse its decision
Wow, direct defiance to the Bishops. I wonder what the Liberals will think of that? Probably cheer for the Nuns. I wonder what they swore to follow when they became Nuns? I guess Liberalism corrupts everything doesn't it!

Guess if this spreads, there won't be any Liberals left!

Father Thomas Euteneuer, a trained exorcist, began penning a monthly column for New Oxford Review on demonic possession and exorcism.(NOTE: Fr. Euteneuer is also president of the major pro-life organization, Human Life International, and a frequent guest on radio and television. A few statistics in Father’s March 2010 column were particularly shocking.

“The book Generation Hex notes that this generation of American kids is the first ever to grow up in a society in which Christianity has been stigmatized and the occult normalized. The authors also note that Wicca is the fastest growing ‘religion’ in the U.S., and it’s not hard to figure why – there are no fewer than 700,000 Internet sites for ‘teenage witches.’ Meanwhile, the Pew Forum’s ‘U.S. Religious Landscape Survey’ found that ‘former Catholics’ outnumber converts four to one. Ten percent of the U.S. population now consists of ‘ex-Catholics.’”

Father Euteneuer points out that any diocesan bishop may appoint priests with “piety, prudence, and integrity of life” to conduct solemn exorcisms. It is clear from the following excerpt from his column that bishops are about as serious on that subject as they are on cracking down on the Lavender Mafia, liturgical abuses, or even child abuse.

“Fr. Jeff Grob, the exorcist in the Archdiocese of Chicago, has said that there are only some seventeen officially appointed exorcists in the entire country.(My emphasis.) This is hardly an army arrayed against the organized forces of Hell."

Every baptized Catholic here on earth is a member of the Church Militant. Every confirmed Catholic is a soldier for Christ. But exorcists are like the Church’s Delta Force, or SEALs, or other specially-trained, elite fighting force. Whiskey tango foxtrot! The bishops have only designated 17 exorcists for the entire United States!! I know one-twelfth of them are direct successors of Judas Iscariot but what’s up with the rest of them? Do they want souls to be lost for eternity to Satan? Is this another “fruit” of Vatican II? Sin no longer exists so we don’t need exorcists?

St. Michael the Archangel, pray for us!

Pray to our Lord GOD, Father Son, and Holy Spirit!

( Pray for the reversal of Roe VS Wade:)
By Peter J. Smith

Updated: 7:16pm EST, 04/13/10

OMAHA, Nebraska, April 13, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman signed into law today another landmark bill banning abortion after 20 weeks gestation, on the basis that an unborn child feels pain at that age. Just hours before, the Nebraska legislature had passed the legislation, the first of its kind in the United States. Pro-life advocates believe it could pose a direct and historic challenge to Roe v. Wade, the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court case that deprived the states the power to regulate or restrict abortion.

The “Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (LB 1103), authored by Speaker Mike Flood, was approved Tuesday in the Unicameral on the third and final reading of the bill, by an overwhelming pro-life majority of 44 in favor and 5 against. The governor wasted no time in signing the measure into law.

The law portends a fresh challenge and new look at the U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton cases, which led to the virtual legalization of abortion on demand. The Nebraska law applies a different standard – that of the unborn child’s ability to feel pain - for restricting abortion, while the high court used the standard of what they then considered to be point of fetal viability.

"The Nebraska Legislature took a bold step today which should ratchet up the abortion debate across America," said Julie Schmit-Albin, Executive Director of Nebraska Right to Life in a statement.

"LB 1103 creates a case of first impression for the courts to acknowledge the capability to feel pain as a compelling state interest to protect those unborn babies from an excruciatingly painful death.”

The legislation bans abortions after 20 weeks of post-fertilization age except in two cases: first, when the pregnancy puts the mother in danger of death or “substantial and irreversible” physical harm to a major bodily function. The second exception allows an abortionist to perform an abortion in order to increase the probability of a live birth, or to preserve an unborn child’s life and health after a live birth.

Although the topic of fetal pain is still under much discussion (and controversy, owing to its implications to the abortion debate) a growing consensus of medical knowledge has pointed to the fact that unborn infants experience pain by 20 weeks and possibly earlier.

Kanwaljeet “Sunny” Anand, a pioneer in the study of fetal pain and now a professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, testified in 2004 on the federal partial birth abortion ban that after 20 weeks gestation, an unborn child would experience “severe and excruciating pain” from an abortion.

The pain may even be more acute than it would be for older humans, as some research indicates their immature nervous systems have not developed coping mechanisms that help the body better endure pain.

The law notes that unborn children have been observed to “seek to evade certain stimuli” in a manner that “would be interpreted as a response to pain.” Additionally, the bill says unborn children exhibit “hormonal stress responses to painful stimuli” that were reduced with the application of pain medication.

Abortionists who break the law would face a Class IV felony charge, which carries a penalty of a five year maximum prison sentence, $10,000 fine, or both. Women who obtain abortions of their unborn children would face no criminal penalties.

The bill would allow women and even the fathers of aborted unborn children to sue and seek damages from abortionists who violate the law.

The law goes into operation on October 15, 2010.

Some in Congress still believe in Almighty GOD!

April 15, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In a decision released Thursday, U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb declared the National Day of Prayer unconstitutional. The decision comes in the case filed by The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF), a Wisconsin-based organization, which challenged the constitutionality of a 1988 federal law giving the president the authority to designate the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer.

The day of prayer "goes beyond mere 'acknowledgment' of religion because its sole purpose is to encourage all citizens to engage in prayer, an inherently religious exercise that serves no secular function in this context," Crabb wrote. "In this instance, the government has taken sides on a matter that must be left to individual conscience."

The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) which represented 31 members of Congress in an amicus brief defending the National Day of Prayer, said that the decision is flawed and expressed confidence that it will be overturned.

"It is unfortunate that this court failed to understand that a day set aside for prayer for the country represents a time-honored tradition that embraces the First Amendment, not violates it," said Jay Sekulow, Chief Counsel of the ACLJ.

"This decision runs counter to well established legal precedent and we're confident that this flawed decision ultimately will be overturned.”

Sekulow said that ACLJ will be appealing the case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. If the appeals court refuses to overturn the decision, Sekulow said that the ACLJ will bring it before the Supreme Court.

He said he is conficdent that the Supreme Court would “ultimately determine that such proclamations and observances like the National Day of Prayer not only reflect our nation's rich history, but are indeed consistent with the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment."

In its brief filed with the federal district court in Madison, Wisconsin, the ACLJ represented itself and 31 members of the 111th Congress – including Rep. J. Randy Forbes of Virginia, who chairs the Congressional Prayer Caucus.

The ACLJ brief noted that the country has a long history of recognizing a national day of prayer dating back to the late 1700's with the Continental Congress recommending that the states set apart a day for prayer and thanksgiving. The brief states that "the historical evidence establishing a National Day of Prayer as deeply embedded in the tradition and history of this country is indisputable."

The ACLJ represented the following U.S. Representatives who are serving in the 111th Congress: J. Randy Forbes, Robert B. Aderholt, Michele Bachmann, Roscoe G. Bartlett, John A. Boehner, John Boozman, Eric Cantor, K. Michael Conaway, Mary Fallin, Virginia Foxx, Trent Franks, Scott Garrett, Louie Gohmert, Wally Herger, Peter Hoekstra, Walter B. Jones, Jim Jordan, Doug Lamborn, Thaddeus G. McCotter, Patrick T. McHenry, Mike McIntyre, Jeff Miller, Sue Wilkins Myrick, Randy Neugebauer, Pete Olson, Mike Pence, Joseph R. Pitts, Heath Shuler, Adrian Smith, Lamar Smith, and Joe Wilson.

More Abortion Lies Exposed!

New Global Study Shows Maternal Mortality Significantly Lower Than Previously Thought/Policy Implications Worry Abortion Advocates
By Susan Yoshihara, Ph.D. Austin Ruse
(NEW YORK – C-FAM) A new study out this week by the leading British medical journal shows maternal mortality rates have been significantly overestimated by United Nations (UN) agencies. The Lancet reports that maternal deaths worldwide in 2008 totaled 342,900 rather than the 500,000+ used by the World Bank, World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) in recent years.
The study finds both that the numbers from WHO and UNICEF were faulty due to a lack of proper reporting and also imprecise statistical modeling. But The Lancet study also finds progress has been made in preventing pregnant women from dying.
The study cites four main reasons for the improvement: declining pregnancy rates in some countries, higher per capita income, higher education rates for women, and increasing availability of basic medical care including “skilled birth attendants.”
The report finds that HIV/AIDS caused 60,000 maternal deaths and suggests that maternal deaths would have been significantly lower in Africa if mothers were given antiretroviral drugs. This sharply contradicts current UN and Obama administration policies, which divert funding from HIV/AIDS to family planning as a way to reduce maternal deaths.
The study shows that 50% of maternal deaths come from just six countries; India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Ethiopia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Researchers were surprised that three of the richest countries in the world actually showed increased maternal mortality: the United States, Canada and Norway, three countries with the most liberal abortion laws in the world.
What was not cited anywhere in the document is abortion. Contrary to this study, the UN has promoted better maternal health through legal, or “safe,” abortion. At the UN-sponsored Women Deliver Conference in London two years ago, which was billed as a conference on maternal mortality, abortion advocate Frances Kissling told the Friday Fax the conference was a “pro-choice conference.”
The Lancet’s editor Dr. Richard Horton told the New York Times he was pressured “by advocacy groups” to delay publication of the report until later this year. Horton said the groups wanted the information withheld until after the current UN Commission on Population and Development (CPD), the Women Deliver Conference scheduled for this June in Washington DC, and the next UN General Assembly, which is also scheduled to address maternal mortality.
Pro-life critics of the maternal mortality numbers have long complained that the 500,000 number was likely too high and based on ideological assumptions. Dr. Donna Harrison, writing in a C-FAM briefing paper last year, said the WHO introduction of medical abortion in some countries to reduce maternal mortality has been based on unreliable data, unreliability now confirmed by a much broader and more detailed study by The Lancet.
Regarding the new Lancet study, Harrison, the president of the American Academy of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG) said,“This study uses the best statistical methods currently available and clearly demonstrates that worldwide legalization of abortion is unnecessary to bring about significant decreases in maternal mortality. AAPLOG encourages UN member nations to continue to develop even better statistical information by improving the identification of maternal mortality causality, especially induced abortion related mortality, which is most often underreported or misreported.”

There is little doubt that this new study will have a direct impact on the negotiations going on this week at the UN CPD, where the negotiated document on maternal mortality includes dozens of references to reproductive health, which is used as a codeword for abortion.

And what about the public Schools?

April 15, 2010
ASSOCIATED PRESS GETS WISE ADVICE
Catholic League president Bill Donohue offers the Associated Press (AP) some words of advice:
What a fabulous story the AP has today on 30 Catholic priests accused of abuse who were transferred or moved abroad.
AP put some money into this investigative report:
it spans 21 countries in six continents.
Now consider the following:·
In October 2007, AP released a report on sexual misconduct committed by public school teachers and found
2,570
cases over a five year period.
In fact, it's much worse than this.
As AP disclosed, "Most of the abuse never gets reported." [My emphasis].
· Why does most of the abuse go unreported?
"School administrators make behind-the-scenes deals to avoid lawsuits and other trouble.
And in state capitals and Congress,
lawmakers shy from tough state punishments or any cohesive national policy for fear of disparaging a vital profession."
· What happens to molesting teachers?
"Too often, problem teachers are allowed to leave quietly.
That can mean future abuse for another student and another school district."
Indeed, it happens so often it is called "passing the trash" or the "mobile molester."
· Moreover, "deals and lack of information-sharing allow abusive teachers to jump state lines,
even when one school does put a stop to the abuse."
Advice to AP: Do a story on the "mobile molesters,"
using the report on priests as a model,
i.e., don't just write an article.....name the names of the teachers,
principals and school superintendents.
Also, track down molesting teachers in Maine where it is illegal to make public the cases of abusing teachers.
Go back to California and Hawaii where AP was stonewalled in 2007 from getting hard information on molesting teachers,
and this time do your own investigating.
For more advice, call my office.

How to ignore your Parish!

This old post of mine, shows ,that so many long time OLLMP parishioners tried to
understand what the Pastor was doing, and his reply, indicates his attitude:
Is it just me? No not at all. Here is an old post of mine, showing the Pompas attitude of our Pastor,
and why OLLMP is in its present state:
A parishioner sent me this excellent email which she sent to Msgr. Lisante yesterday. His response follows below.

Monsignor Lisante:

Why has the beloved Fatima statue been posted in the back of Our Lady of Lourdes? Why? Is this meant as just another slap in the face to the parish’s “Masoniacs”, as they’ve been dubbed or is this something more sinister? I was personally stunned last June to learn that this most beautiful religious symbol of Our Lady was dumped in a closet; while the back of the church is certainly preferable to the closet...why must She be demoted at all? What is it about this image that is so repugnant to you?

An infallible and unmistakable sign by which we can distinguish a heretic, a man of false doctrine, an enemy of God, from one of God's true friends is that the heretic and the hardened sinner show nothing but contempt and indifference for Our Lady, and endeavor, by word and example, openly or insidiously----sometimes under specious pretexts----to belittle the love and veneration shown to her.--- St. Louis de Montfort in True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin

Honestly, Monsignor, with all due respect, I continue to be dumbfounded by your actions and open malevolence towards the faithful of this parish and symbols of such. I continue to be saddened and disappointed to see this lovely parish degrade spiritually. You talk of tolerance and benevolence, yet you hold neither of these for the parishioners that built this church.

I have attended Mass faithfully, supported events, volunteered repeatedly and loved this parish for over 20 years. I will not leave it, no matter how offensive the environment may become. This is my parish home, my children’s parish home; why is that so impossible for you to respect?

I will continue to pray for your soul. I will continue to pray for Our Lady of Lourdes. The only solace I have is knowing that Our Father sees all and hears our prayers, I have peace knowing that He is a kind and loving God and a just God!

Most sincerely,

__________
OLL Parishioner since 1987

Here is Msgr. Lisante's evasive and irrelevant reply:

Dear _________:

Thank you for your letter. My devotion to Our Lady is deeply felt. And is no less than your own.

I thank you for the goodness and respect you offered in writing me directly.

In the Lord of Life, I am

Sincerely,

Monsignor Jim Lisante

it is devoid of any relevance or feelings.)

Subject: Latin masses for every parish.
Beloved Bishop William Murphy,
Your eminence, in as much as so many parishioners in Long Island are searching for Latin Traditional masses to go to every Sunday, that the mass may be offered at every parish not just two or three on Long Island? I believe it is time to go back to the tried and true mass and reverence to the Body, Blood, Soul, and
Divinity of our Savior Jesus Christ, as the experiment of modernistic mass has not produced the effect it had hoped to, and our Pope BenedictXVI had indicated his desire to see the expansion of the Latin Mass at every parish, not just a few.
Ecclesia Dei has stated that they are prepared and willing to assist any parish that wishes to have their priests trained for this older form of mass.Information can be had at: Coalition in support of ECCELESIA DEI, attention: Mary M Kraychy P.O. Please my Bishop give serious consideration to this matter

The snake has resurfaced again

After many months, the carpetbagger from St Thomas has resurfaced again. Nange4jpl
enamoured with the new Pastor, in spite of the destruction he has caused in the
parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, and has stated she is a "Mental Health Professional".
Not someone I would recommend! She is now posting from Malverne L.I., no longer from
Rockville Center.
Once again, I'll repeat to you...Do something positive with your life, stop the spreading of the disease that is in your foul and lascivious mouth and heart.
The choice is yours, you can, with the sacrament of reconciliation, turn your behavior and return to Jesus, heart, soul and mind.
I do hope, for as long as Our Lord keeps you on this earth, that somewhere inside that the pain of your feelings inadequacy, you begin to accept as an illness and seek council to heal, This life of anger has led you to become a bully behind an blog-- Ib reality, Itzik, a bully is always fighting inadequacy and shame issues, Are you this way with your family, friends and associates?? I presume you are, on some level, impossible for those around you to converse with, without any breaks in reality.
Do your grandchildren read your diatribes about Msgr.?
Don't let your shame continue to keep you buried in a life of erratic behavior. There is help out there for this illness. But it's up to you to take the first step.
Good Luck
Always in the hope of healing,
Nancy Ann
Do yourself a favor NancyAnn, and do not give out any of your phony
psychological garbage to anyone but your fiends like What Nonsense, and Anonymous. In your mind anyone who stands up to the
establishment has a mental problem. Truth is NancyAnn, you are the
one that has the problem, as you can not see past your adoration
of a scripted Pastor who can not see any further than his own
mirror, and his narcissistic nature.
Our opposition was not a planned course, but one of self defense
of OUR PARISH, and the way it has been degraded by a Pastor who
has admitted that he did not want to be Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes. As we would say in Brooklyn, "The fish stinks from the head down". The ignoring of 450 parishioners(I was there), expressing their wishes, was ignored by the Bishops committee.
Better that the meeting had not been held, than to go through
the farce that occurred. Our Parish would have remained vibrant,
cohesive, and faithful to the needs of the parish, as it had always been. You and your Liberal Catholics are trying to shift the blame of what has happened from the leadership, to the parishioners. Because of the actions of the Bishop, the Pastor,
and the Sick Assistant Pastor, they have torn apart this model
parish, into a divided, unresponsive parish that feels beaten
in heart and spirit. The job of the shepherd is to care for the flock, not beat it into submission, and be driven away.
A Pastor that talks love, and beats and drives away his parishioners, does everything he can to irritate, and anger them,
is a Pastor in tittle only, dealing in grandiose speech making,
and not in true pastoral action. When I had suggested a peaceful
solution, I was demeaned by your friend "Tony", Listeningln, Nomorekoolaid....etc, with the response of "who are you that the
Pastor should listen to?" Do you remember that NancyAnn? Or do you
have selected memory? And now the Pastor and entourage, are trying
to appear as wanting to bring the parish together. Those who have
left the parish, feel they were driven away, and did not leave of
their own free will. You and your foolish liberal parishioners are as much to blame as are the Bishop, and the pastor. I think the final nail was what he had done to the M & M twins, I guess the
Pastor couldn't share the stage with anyone else.
If you can not see what has happened, then you are the one that
should be a Patient, instead of the physician.
With all that has happened, the only winner was the Devil, and
there is no satisfaction in being right, if the outcome still ended in the destruction of the parish and those poor children, whom the Past Pastor, tried to save.
SAVING SOULS SHOULD BE THE PRIMARY JOB OF THE BISHOP AND THE PASTOR, AND THEY HAVE NOT ACTED IN ACCORDANCE TO THEIR SWORN
DUTY.

Up or Down?

any other issues besides just Obama-Care, dividing Americans -- abortion, redistribution of wealth, social justice, welfare, illegal aliens
Something in the Air
By Jim O'Neill Tuesday, April 13, 2010
“There are now two Americas: one conservative; the other liberal. Increasingly, we no longer just disagree, but we despise each other.”—Jeffrey Kuhner “Will America Break”

“You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream—the maximum of individual freedom consistent with order—or down to the ash heap of totalitarianism.”—Ronald Reagan (1911-2004)

“If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down
and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”—Samuel Adams (1722-1803)

Some people are saying that this is the most perilous period in recent memory. I’m a fair student of history, and I would say that to find America’s population so deeply, and acrimoniously, at odds with one another, you’d have to go back to the Civil War.

As I write this, in some states, both the Governor and the Attorney General oppose the latest massive federal legislation (Obama-Care); in other states the Governor opposes it, and the Attorney General supports it, or the Attorney General opposes it, and the Governor supports it. In some states both the Governor and Attorney General support it, while the Lt. Governor opposes it. And on it goes, in myriad variations.

There are, of course, many other issues besides just Obama-Care, dividing Americans—abortion, redistribution of wealth, social justice, welfare, illegal aliens, and on, and on, and on. The U.S. southern border is a powder keg primed to explode. The divisions separating liberals and conservatives are deep, wide, profound—and perhaps irreconcilable.

Liberals are discovering that they aren’t thrilled with the idea of a fascist-style NWO, run by a cabal of banks, big corporations, and a Global Elite
And it’s hardly just conservatives who are angry. The battle lines are still shifting, and a gratifyingly large number of liberals are discovering that they aren’t thrilled with the idea of a fascist-style NWO, run by a cabal of banks, big corporations, and a Global Elite. Extremists at both ends of the political spectrum are, as always, ready to explode at the slightest excuse—or no excuse—and the Far Left is increasingly of the opinion that our current government isn’t Marxist enough, or isn’t practicing the “right type” of Marxism.

It appears that moderates, either of the liberal, or RINO variety, are fast becoming passe—insignificant features on the political landscape. Like it or not, extremism rules the day, and it’s “shake and bake” time, culturally, politically, and even geographically (if recent earthquakes are anything to go by).

It’s an accepted fact by now, that the Lame Stream Media is merely the propaganda arm of the regressive, repressive Progressives, and that our U.S. government Departments are all “Agenda 21 friendly,” and aligned with “political correctness.” This, despite the fact that Agenda 21 is a UN, and not a U.S., agenda, and PC is obviously nothing but a way of censoring all but “Far Left approved” speech.

Insidious nature of Agenda 21
But in a relatively short period of time, “we the people” have awakened to the insidious nature of Agenda 21, and the shock value of being labeled a “racist,” “homophobe,”” Islamaphobe,” or whatever the current “phobe-de-jour” is, has lost most of its power to intimidate and silence.

Many patriotic Americans are simply fed-up, and way past the point of caring what slurs are hurled their way anymore. They’re looking for answers, action, and direction.

What is the best option available to patriotic, conservative Americans? Is it time to tip-toe on eggshells, or time to use every peaceful means of resistance at our disposal—or is it time to rip this thing wide open, and take it to the streets? Or some combination of all the above?

“We the people” know that as bad as things are economically, things can get drastically worse, very quickly, and irrevocably. We know that allowing America to stay on its present course of “tax and spend,” is not only unsustainable, but will lead inexorably to financial ruin. We ask ourselves, at what point do “we the people” say ENOUGH? Where do we turn, where do we go?

The Tea Party looks increasingly attractive to an ever-expanding bloc of people. The Tea Party is, perhaps surprisingly, much more centrist then the pundits are willing, or able, to admit.

There’s also a rapidly growing group of activists located somewhere between the Tea Party, and the anarchists at the extreme right. This group is growing in strength, passion, and power daily. More about them in a moment, but for now let’s look at the Tea Party.

The Tea Party is poised to become the de facto Patriotic Party, and is increasingly in the center of the political spectrum—former Democrats now make up about 40% of the Tea Party’s membership. They stand ready to support a Democrat, or a Republican, or an Independent candidate—of course, because of the nature of politics, the Republicans will garner the bulk of the Tea Party’s support.

These folks are by and large opposed to violent revolution—in fact, they see violence as being not only counter-productive, but playing into the hands of the Progressive globalists. They feel that any violence will give the Progressives the excuse they’re looking for to declare martial law—and then we really will be screwed.

Hang tough until November, they urge, and after we get a large number of true patriots elected into positions of power, we’ll be in a much better position to make some moves.

Their advice, is to use every peaceful means at our disposal, to slow down or stop the Progressive agenda, while we prepare to sweep the House and Senate in November. There are a number of peaceful ways to slow down the Obama/Reid/Pelosi train wreck, they say.

For example, there’s a lot of “smoke and mirrors” surrounding Obama’s eligibility to be POTUS, and, as the saying has it, “where there’s smoke there’s fire.” You don’t have to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out there’s a lot being hidden from “we the people,” and that bringing some of these things out into the open, will result in a real “game changer.” Can you say quo warranto?

A recent article by Marion Valentine in Canada Free Press, argued that we are seeing the final steps of the second phase of a four-phase takeover of America. According to Valentine, these final steps consist of:

Discrediting and intimidating dissenters
Creating a crisis in order to declare a national emergency and martial law.
Creating violent civic unrest and blaming it on the dissenters.
Do we really want to walk right into a trap, through our violent activities?

Some conservatives argue to hold on just a bit more, and the Progressive facade will fall apart of its own accord. The Progressive juggernaut has been splintering for months, and all we need to do is nudge it along a bit, and it’ll break apart into the contentious factions that merged to form it.

Copenhagen was a disaster, the H1N1 scam didn’t go as planned, and no way did they plan on Obama-Care taking over a year to get pushed through. Not everything has gone the Progressive’s way, not by a long shot. “Be patient,” they advise, “we just have to hold on a little longer.”

As I mentioned earlier, because of the rightward shift of the political spectrum, the Tea Party has become increasingly “centrist,” and in between the Tea Party and the anarchists at the Extreme Right, has emerged a group of patriots, who, for simplicity’s sake, I’ll call the Far Right, who couldn’t disagree more with the idea of “peaceful resistance.”

“Bull,” they say. “The time for talk is over!” “Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!”—or words to that effect. Hand out the arms and ammo.

They feel that the Progressives won’t stop until they are made to stop—forcefully. Force and subterfuge is how Marxists have always acquired power, and it’s all they understand and respect.

The Far Right says “hit ‘em hard; hit ‘em fast, and hit ‘em NOW.” Every day that they remain in power is another day for the globalists to lay waste to America, and entrench themselves further. Today is the time to strike—yesterday would have been better!

Don’t talk to the Far Right about martial law—they’re already at war! They believe that the Founding Fathers must be turning over in their graves at what a bunch of mewling, weak-willed milquetoasts Americans have turned into. Where’s your friggin’ backbone! The Progressive s.o.b.s can cause a “Reichstag fire incident” any time they choose, and then where will we be?

We have to STOP reacting to their moves, and start making some moves of our own—forceful moves, revolutionary moves! These weasels are now the power structure, let them start reacting for a change!

Jonah Goldberg recently wrote, “Conservatives like America’s economic growth, its dynamism and innovation.” You had better believe it, and we’re not going down without a fight. In fact, we’re not going down at all—we’re taking America back, and we’re not stopping until we’ve reacquired all of the power that’s been stripped from “we the people” over the last hundred-plus years.

What are we waiting for? John Brown helped to start the process of America throwing off the chains of slavery. Where’s our John Brown? Where’s our Washington? Where are our leaders of integrity and action? Let’s go! Let’s move! Let’s roll! NOW!

That’s an example of how the Far Right is talking these days. The liberals are worried about the Tea Party? They ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

Although the Tea Party has elements who share such Far Right views, they are very much in the minority (so far), and the Tea Party is (contrary to what the talking heads would have us believe) relatively moderate in comparison.

Far Right is growing exponentially
From what I’ve been able to pick up from various conservative media outlets, the Far Right is growing exponentially, both in and out (mostly out) of the Tea Party. They will soon be a force to be reckoned with – ask renowned radio talk-show host Michael Savage.

I’m in nobody’s “loop” regarding these things (nor do I want to be), but although the November elections are relatively close, they’re also relatively far away—a lot can happen between now and then. Can the lid be kept on things that long? Do we want it to?

I don’t trust the Progressives for a moment, and I do not take the fact that elections will be held next November as a given. All bets are off with the current crowd holding the power in D.C. So, although I lean toward peaceful solutions; I’m on my toes, and I’m leaving myself open to the option of changing my mind—in a nanosecond.

As John Lennon once said, “Nobody told me there’d be days like these—strange days indeed.”

Iranian President Ahmadinejad, and most of the Iranian theocracy believe that the time for the return of the 12th Imam (Al-Mahdi) draws nigh—as does a time of “chaos and civil war.” Christians around the world are waiting (impatiently, in some cases) for the “End Days” of Armageddon and the Second Coming. A number of New Agers, and others, are looking at December 21, 2012—the end of a Mayan calendar cycle—as being the day the world ends.

All in all, the current hoopla is making the fuss over Y2K look like a tempest in a teapot. It must be something in the water—or in the air.

Perhaps we’re simply in the midst of an expansion of Teilhard de Chardin’s Noosphere—a wrenching, but ultimately benign, readjustment of the planetary consciousness—a cosmic shake-up, designed to “remold reality nearer to the heart’s desire.”

Then again, perhaps these are indeed the “End Days.” It’s a good idea to be prepared for multiple possibilities anymore. While resting serenely in the knowledge that God’s-will reigns supreme, it’s nonetheless comforting to have a “Plan B,” and a “Plan C,” and a “Plan D,” and a “Plan….”

Laus Deo.

Wake up Catholics, they are Attacking our POPE

What Every Catholic NEEDS To Know To Defend The Holy Father
Helmet tip to Fr. Gonzales at Overheard in the Sacristy

The accusations against the Pope simply don't pass the Google Test. Feel free to print this off as a handy little cheat sheet if there's anyone you know who is rabid Pope-Basher.

Also, PLEASE pass this info throughout the blogosphere.

Here's some of the article from CatholicCulture.org; (Emphasis mine)

Journalists abandon standards to attack the Pope

We’re off and running once again, with another completely phony story that purports to implicate Pope Benedict XVI in the protection of abusive priests.

The “exclusive” story released by AP yesterday, which has been dutifully passed along now by scores of major media outlets, would never have seen the light of day if normal journalistic standards had been in place. Careful editors should have asked a series of probing questions, and in every case the answer to those questions would have shown that the story had no “legs.”

First to repeat the bare-bones version of the story: in November 1985, then-Cardinal Ratzinger signed a letter deferring a decision on the laicization of Father Stephen Kiesle, a California priest who had been accused of molesting boys.

Now the key questions:

• Was Cardinal Ratzinger responding to the complaints of priestly pedophilia? No. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which the future Pontiff headed, did not have jurisdiction for pedophile priests until 2001. The cardinal was weighing a request for laicization of Kiesle.

• Had Oakland’s Bishop John Cummins sought to laicize Kiesle as punishment for his misconduct? No. Kiesle himself asked to be released from the priesthood. The bishop supported the wayward priest’s application.

• Was the request for laicization denied? No. Eventually, in 1987, the Vatican approved Kiesle’s dismissal from the priesthood.

• Did Kiesle abuse children again before he was laicized? To the best of our knowledge, No. The next complaints against him arose in 2002: 15 years after he was dismissed from the priesthood.

• Did Cardinal Ratzinger’s reluctance to make a quick decision mean that Kiesle remained in active ministry? No. Bishop Cummins had the authority to suspend the predator-priest, and in fact he had placed him on an extended leave of absence long before the application for laicization was entered.

• Would quicker laicization have protected children in California? No. Cardinal Ratzinger did not have the power to put Kiesle behind bars. If Kiesle had been defrocked in 1985 instead of 1987, he would have remained at large, thanks to a light sentence from the California courts. As things stood, he remained at large. He was not engaged in parish ministry and had no special access to children.

• Did the Vatican cover up evidence of Kiesle’s predatory behavior? No. The civil courts of California destroyed that evidence after the priest completed a sentence of probation– before the case ever reached Rome.

So to review: This was not a case in which a bishop wanted to discipline his priest and the Vatican official demurred. This was not a case in which a priest remained active in ministry, and the Vatican did nothing to protect the children under his pastoral care. This was not a case in which the Vatican covered up evidence of a priest’s misconduct. This was a case in which a priest asked to be released from his vows, and the Vatican– which had been flooded by such requests throughout the 1970s — wanted to consider all such cases carefully. In short, if you’re looking for evidence of a sex-abuse crisis in the Catholic Church, this case is irrelevant.

Guilty until proven Innocent?

Thank God for Damien Thomspon. I'll admit, I've been rather dis-heartened by much of what I've been reading as of late. But leave it to Thompson to place things into reasonable context. Here's his bit of sanity and rationale from The Telegraph; (Emphasis mine)
And so the relentless attempts to 'get' Pope Benedict XVI continue…
By Damian Thompson

The Associated Press is claiming that the former Cardinal Ratzinger was implicated in a decision to delay defrocking a paedophile priest. Sounds bad, doesn’t it? But, as with all the media attempts to “get” Pope Benedict XVI, the story turns out to be a bit more complicated than the headlines imply. Fr Stephen Kiesle committed his disgusting crimes in the 1970s, the Diocese of Oakland withdrew him from priestly ministry and he asked to be laicised, a complicated canonical procedure. In 1985 Ratzinger signed a letter (in Latin) urging caution but then did give permission for the defrocking, which happened in 1987.

Probably the delay was a bad decision; but it was as a lay worker that Kiesle later volunteered for youth ministry – and seems to have got away with it, thanks to the diocese, not the CDF. We don’t really know the full details, but it’s pretty clear to me that, as with The New York Times’s dodgy Wisconsin story, the shocking negligence of the Church authorities can’t easily be laid at the door of the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, who did not take over direct responsibility for sex cases until 2001. And, indeed, no one would be trying to do so if he hadn’t later become Pope.

Meanwhile, as I pointed out the other day, a genuine sex and corruption scandal is engulfing the Vatican, as it becomes clear that senior Cardinals and curial officials accepted money from the creepy Legionaries of Christ. But there’s a problem: as in the case of the pervert Cardinal Groer, Joseph Ratzinger is untainted by the scandal. So no big deal, eh? All that matters to various media outlets is that they beat the opposition to The Story That Brings Down The Pope. And if it doesn’t exist? “Of course it exists!” scream certain editors.
None of this Ratzinger-baiting helps the victims of clerical abuse. In fact, it has helped one or two sleazebag prelates pass the buck. I despair.

Cap and trade preview

Frisco Scraps "Meatless Monday" Plan!
Beef-Fry Days (B.F.D.) Resolution Passed By San Francisco Supervisors
By William Kevin Stoos Friday, April 9, 2010
No sooner had San Francisco announced its Meatless Mondays program—proposed by Supervisor Sophie “Meatless” Maxwell—vegetarian, than they scrapped the plan in favor of a more traditional way to curb pollution in the United States. Of course, this startling development caught the eye of Ace Reporter and “Most Trusted Name in the News 2010,” Hugh Betcha. Hugh, Chief of the Food Bureau of the Stoos Views media conglomerate in Wynstone, South Dakota—where the air is clean, the crime rate low, the folks vote red and the centre still holds—called Heather “Muffin” Goodearth, spokes- individual for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors—to get the lowdown. Heather, who took the call for Maxwell, who was attending a conference on “Offending the Goddess of Nature—How to Protect the Ecosphere,” at the Frisco University Institute of Technology—Cows Are Killing the Environment division (F.R.U.I.T.C.A.K.E) explained the sudden change in attitude by the Supervisors.

“We got it all wrong,” she noted, almost apologetically. “Studies by environmental scientists at F.R.U.I.T.C.A.K.E. have proved beyond any doubt that cow flatus—not automobiles, volcanic eruptions or industrial emissions—is responsible for most of the air pollution world wide. These are the same scientists who argued for the elimination of all plastic bags, the banning of warships in the harbor, the health hazards of smoking in outdoor cafes, the danger of mixing different types of compost, and the danger of mean thoughts, so we cannot question their findings. That being the case we decided that Meatless Mondays was the wrong approach altogether.”

“Why?” Hugh inquired—always good at such incisive questions.

“Simply put, cows are the enemy. By promoting Meatless Mondays, we are actually encouraging cow life—which is detrimental to human life and the environment. Their “gas” if you will, is sucking the life out of the planet. Al Gore has advised us candidly, that if cattle are allowed to live, there will be no oxygen left on the planet within five years—the same time that the polar ice caps melt. Therefore the answer is simple….”

“...that is?”

“We must ban their production and eat them all.”

“Say what?”

“Yes, we have changed our thinking about this matter and have a two fold plan: First, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors will announce this week the passage of a strong resolution condemning the production of all beef henceforth, and banning the raising of cattle within the city limits of San Francisco. This ban will serve as a beacon to all other cities, states and nations—just as we have led the way on every major social issue of the day. We expect our great Leader Nancy Pelosi to introduce national legislation to this effect later this year—but we must start somewhere. So the resolution will be announced this week and strictly enforced. Second, beginning this week, the Board will pass a resolution announcing that, henceforth, every Friday in San Francisco shall be “Beef-Fry Day.” All citizens (except Sophie) will be ordered to eat as much beef as possible and thereby do their part to eliminate the scourge of these gas-passing behemoths who are sucking the oxygen from the planet, destroying the ozone layer, melting the poles and killing thousands of those baby polar bears who are left homeless by the melting icecaps.”

“What is the theory here?” Hugh inquired.

“By outlawing the production of beef—which will certainly catch on when others read our resolution and do the same—and eating those that remain, we clean up the air—it is that simple.”

“Wow, this is indeed innovative. What is next?”

“We will ban auto emissions within the city limits and thereby eliminate the second biggest source of pollution on the planet next to bovine flatulence.”

“You mean….”

“Yes….Motorless Mondays. No driving within the city limits of San Francisco on Mondays. Watch the papers. And if that works as we expect…”

“Don’t tell me….”

“Autoless August.”

Closing of the School at Our Lady of Lourdes Massapequa Park

It is a sad, sad, day, when we have to get information from Newsday, instead of announcing it at mass on Sunday.
I had predicted from the start, that Msgr Lisante was sent to OLLMP precisely for this reason, to diminish the school enrollment, inorder to shut down the school, and eventually the Parish. In my post of 2008, it was evident that Msgr Lisante was not sent to OLLMP to build it up, as the parish was already vibrant under Pastor Robert Mason. Too many Liberal parents of the School wanted to turn the Church School into something resembling the public schools, in other words, remove the catholic teaching and Catholic Observances. Why else would Msgr Lisante
cancel the Sunday Children's mass, or the regular practice of hearing confessions in the school for first Fridays, or remove the confessions on late Saturday night for those that worked on Saturdays. How about bringing into the parish a priest without faculties, which was an 8 year thing started by him from St Thomas parish, where he was the Pastor, and the hiring of another Music Director, when the school enrollment was already so low? Does he have any idea of what the name and duties of a Pastor are supposed to be? I doubt it, as we are lucky if he shows up one day a week for the Sunday "Performance" that he does. Do you think that because he was too busy with his TV Career to attend to his "Pastoral duties", that the School and the parish fell apart? He went through the motions of building up the School, waisting so much money on equipment and renovations, when it could have been used for the schools needs,
instead of squandered as a false show of trying to improve the school.
How about all of the money waisted on his furnishings, and extra help he imported to take the place of him being there to handle the daily problems and chores?
What happened to the $2.5 million that was left over to the parish by the previous Pastor? Other than the steadfast Conservatives in the parish, no one bothered to ask the questions that needed to be asked, if even on a business point of view. And yet, the claim that he has been reporting to
meet the parish needs by the of money he claims to collect every week.
According to his financial report in the Sunday Bulletin, he is collecting from the parishioners over $17,000 every week. What would have been received if he had not chased the good parishioners away because
of his anger over having Mathew Blockly removed. The steadfast contributors to the parish gave not just monetarily, but with the volunteers that worked around the parish. If this were a company, the parishioners
would have the rights to challenge the closing of the school, and the mishandling of money, and squandering of money by the Pastor.
My heart is torn apart, as the Bishop and Pastor of OLLMP have caused this to happen. Why couldn't the Bishop use some of his Millions of Dollars collected over the many years, to save the schools? Why is it expedient for the public schools to take money from so many sources to save the young minds in schools, and our Bishop can not find any excess money to save two small schools? You can not chase away the
contributors from the church, and expect it to keep thriving. I know where this action is heading and is why that gifted saint stated "The floor of Hell is paved with the skulls of Bishops", and I would add, "and the walls are lined with the skulls of the Pastors and Monsignors that follow them".
You Liberals have inherited what you have sown, and are now reaping the fruits of rotten seeds. Yes I know , you will say, we'll just go to another school, or Parish.
You should have done that earlier, and left the thriving conservative parish, who were doing fine over the 32 years that our former Pastor took care of the parish. Just like the foolish Liberals that had voted
in the President, that is destroying our country, so to ,your voices were not added to the conservatives that opposed the attacks by the new Pastor, and aided by the Bishop. Talk about calumnious actions, I wonder how their sins will be washed away? GOD have mercy on us all. Because of the inactivity of parishioners all around the world, the Devil and his helpers are now attacking our Pope Benedict XVI.
Our only answer is with prayer, but we still must act, and with the help of our GOD, Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, truth and our trust in our Lord, will save us,and in the end, GOD will triumph.
Yours in Jesus,
Itzik Janowitz

Spoken like one that has been Betrayed

He’s Done Everything Wrong
by Mort Zuckerman

| Obama punted on the economy and reversed the fortunes of the Democrats in 365 days.
He’s misjudged the character of the country in his whole approach. There’s the saying, “It’s the economy, stupid.” He didn’t get it. He was determined somehow or other to adopt a whole new agenda. He didn’t address the main issue.
This health-care plan is going to be a fiscal disaster for the country. Most of the country wanted to deal with costs, not expansion of coverage. This is going to raise costs dramatically.
In the campaign, he said he would change politics as usual. He did change them. It’s now worse than it was. I’ve now seen the kind of buying off of politicians that I’ve never seen before. It’s politically corrupt and it’s starting at the top. It’s revolting.
Five states got deals on health care—one of them was Harry Reid’s. It is disgusting, just disgusting. I’ve never seen anything like it. The unions just got them to drop the tax on Cadillac plans in the health-care bill. It was pure union politics. They just went along with it. It’s a bizarre form of political corruption. It’s bribery. I suppose they could say, that’s the system. He was supposed to change it or try to change it.
Even that is not the worst part. He could have said, “I know. I promised these things, but let me try to do them one at a time.” You want to deal with health care? Fine. Issue No. 1 with health care was the cost. You know I think it was 37 percent or 33 who were worried about coverage. Fine, I wrote an editorial to this effect. Focus on cost-containment first. But he’s trying to boil the ocean, trying to do too much. This is not leadership.
• More Daily Beast opinion on Obama’s first year Obama’s ability to connect with voters is what launched him. But what has surprised me is how he has failed to connect with the voters since he’s been in office. He’s had so much overexposure. You have to be selective. He was doing five Sunday shows. How many press conferences? And now people stop listening to him. The fact is he had 49.5 million listeners to first speech on the economy. On Medicare, he had 24 million. He’s lost his audience. He has not rallied public opinion. He has plunged in the polls more than any other political figure since we’ve been using polls. He’s done everything wrong. Well, not everything, but the major things.
I don’t consider it a triumph. I consider it a disaster.
One business leader said to me, “In the Clinton administration, the policy people were at the center, and the political people were on the sideline. In the Obama administration, the political people are at the center, and the policy people are on the sidelines.”
I’m very disappointed. We endorsed him. I voted for him. I supported him publicly and privately.
I hope there are changes. I think he’s already laid in huge problems for the country. The fiscal program was a disaster. You have to get the money as quickly as possible into the economy. They didn’t do that. By end of the first year, only one-third of the money was spent. Why is that?
He should have jammed a stimulus plan into Congress and said, “This is it. No changes. Don’t give me that bullshit. We have a national emergency.” Instead they turned it over to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi who can run circles around him.
It’s very sad. It’s really sad.
He’s improved America’s image in the world. He absolutely did. But you have to translate that into something. Let me tell you what a major leader said to me recently. “We are convinced,” he said, “that he is not strong enough to confront his enemy. We are concerned,” he said “that he is not strong to support his friends.”
The political leadership of the world is very, very dismayed. He better turn it around. The Democrats are going to get killed in this election. Jesus, looks what’s happening in Massachusetts.
It’s really interesting because he had brilliant, brilliant political instincts during the campaign. I don’t know what has happened to them. His appointments present somebody who has a lot to learn about how government works. He better get some very talented businesspeople who know how to implement things. It’s unbelievable. Everybody says so. You can’t believe how dismayed people are. That’s why he’s plunging in the polls.
I can’t predict things two years from now, but if he continues on the downward spiral he is on, he won’t be reelected. In the meantime, the Democrats have recreated the Republican Party. And when I say Democrats, I mean the Obama administration. In the generic vote, the Democrats were ahead something like 52 to 30. They are now behind the Republicans 48 to 44 in the last poll. Nobody has ever seen anything that dramatic.
