Pope Benedict to Catholics: Kneel and Receive on the Tongue Only
Pope Benedict XVI does not want the faithful receiving Communion in their hand nor does he want them standing to receive Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. According to Vatican liturgist, Monsignor Guido Marini, the pope is trying to set the stage for the whole church as to the proper norm for receiving Communion for which reason communicants at his papal Masses are now asked to kneel and receive on the tongue.
The Holy Father's reasoning is simple: "We Christians kneel before the Blessed Sacrament because, therein, we know and believe to be the presence of the One True God." (May 22, 2008)
According to the pope the entire Church should kneel in adoration before God in the Eucharist. "Kneeling in adoration before the Eucharist is the most valid and radical remedy against the idolatries of yesterday and today" (May 22, 2008)
It is for reason that Pope Paul VI in his May 1969 pastoral letter to the world's bishops reaffirmed the Church's teaching on the reception of Communion, stating that: "This method on the tongue must be retained." (Memoriale Domini) This came in response to the bishops of Holland who started Communion in the hand in defiance of the centuries old decree from the Council of Rouen (650 A.D.) where this practice was condemned as sacrilegious. "Do not put the Eucharist in the hands of any layperson, but only in their mouths." To date this prohibition has never been overturned legally.
Today Communion in the hand is carried on illegally and has become a major tool of the enemy to destroy the Faith throughout the world. For this practice serves no other purpose than to warp our conception of Jesus Christ and nourish a contempt for the sacred mysteries. It's no wonder St. Basil referred to Communion in the hand as "a grave fault."
Thanks to Communion in the hand, members of satanic cults are now given easy access to come into the Church and take the Host so that they bring it back to their covens where it is abused and brutalized in the ritualistic Black Mass to Satan. They crush the Host under their shoes as a mockery to the living God, and we assist it with our casual practice? Amongst themselves the satanists declare that Communion in the hand is the greatest thing that ever happened to them, and we do nothing to stop it?
Hence, the Holy Father is doing his part to try to purge the Church of abuse and we as members of Christ are called upon to assist him. For your encouragement we include the following quotation from Cardinal [Cañizares] Llovera, the new prefect for the Vatican's Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments speaking to Life Site News on July 22, 2009: "It is the mission of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Sacraments to work to promote Pope Benedict's emphasis on the traditional practices of liturgy, such as reception of Communion on the tongue while kneeling."
Technically all bishops and clergy are bound to follow the Holy Father's directive on this issue, but in the meantime the faithful are not obliged to wait for the approval of their bishop in order to kneel for God. The directives of the Holy Father are not subject to the veto or scrutiny of the bishops and therefore all pastors and laity have a right and duty to put these directives into practice for the edification of their communities.

Formerly Archbishop of Toledo, Spain, Cardinal Cañizares [Llovera] is the current Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, that has competence over the way in which Mass is celebrated throughout the world. He was elevated to the cardinalate in 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI.
The cardinal spoke with LifeSiteNews.com on July 24th at the offices of the Congregation on the Via della Conciliazione in Rome, down the road from St. Peter's Basilica and the papal residence. He spoke about the influence of Pope Benedict XVI, who, he said, has made it a priority to "rekindle in the conscience of all the true sense of the liturgy."
He said it is the mission of the Congregation for Divine Worship and Sacraments to work to promote Pope Benedict's emphasis on the traditional practices of liturgy, such as reception of Communion on the tongue while kneeling. In this pope, he said there is hope of a "great new unstoppable liturgical movement."

Our Lady of Lourdes is in Trouble caused by the new pastor
In the bulletin July 19,2009, Msgr James Lisante is trying to bring back to OLL MP
the same people that his actions(or whomever he left in charge) had driven away.
He now is asking the people that like his modernistic approach to our religion, to ask those same people to return. To What? Has he changed suddenly, is the childrens mass restored? Is the statue of Fatima, that was gifted to Oll MP been return? Is the late saturday night confession restored for those that worked during the day Saturday? Is the once a month confessions in the school being returned? Will the Latin mass be rotated as it was before? Why was it exiled to 1:30pm, and not left to rotate with the other masses, was it for fear that others in the parish may be exposed to reverence to our Lord Jesus, Body, Blood, Soul & divinity?
Was there a fear that the parish would ask for more than one Latin Mass on Sunday?
Father Peter of Maria Regina and the Bishop should be notified that the Pastor of
OLL MP is trying to lure away those that are worshiping at another parish because of the actions taken by the new Pastor. The donations to OLL MP have steadily diminished and lately the Pastor of OLL MP is asking the parishioners to contribute more for those attending the school. During these tough times which will be getting tougher as Obama increases the taxes on everyone, not just those that make over $250,000 per year, as Timothy Geitner wants an increase on taxes for the middle classes, particularly for those on Social Security checks to dig deeper.
Had Msgr Lisante left things as they were, and possibly left Fr Mason in charge while he is making his television preparations, and his Radio preparations, and leaving the parish in charge of who know who(I can guess but won't) because he is only around 1 day a week, there never would be a lack of donations, and the Spirit of Our Lady of Lourdes, would still be there.
Bishop Murphy is just a much to blame, as his mind had been made up long before
400+ of us attended the meeting, and voiced our oppinion that we wanted another traditional pastor to take over for Fr Mason.
I had offered Msgr Lisante directly in emails, telephonel calls, letters, (as many of our parishioner had done) in addition to getting the Vicar of RVC to mediate a solution to the problem with what the new pastor had done, all had gone unanswered,
leaving my telephone number for call back, was futile, and one woman that left a letter for Msgr Lisante, was told by him that the letter had been turned over to his team of Lawyers. Way to go Pastor, how loving and kindly you take care of your parishioners, do you know the meaning of the word "Pastor" ? Like the good shepherd
you should care for those in your charge, not ignore them, and leave them to be eaten by the wolves.
How sad that our Catholic Church should be lead by Bishops that are trying to
bring more parishioners into our church by making us into Protestants. Instead you should be leading us into a more faithful Catholic life, by returning back to the pre-vatican II liturgy, with reverence in the mass to the Body, Blood, Soul, and
Divinity, of our Lord Jesus.
Keep praying for our return to OLL as it had been, as people from all over flocked to our parish for truth in the liturgy, not clapping for teachings that we heard, but reflection in our minds and hearts, at the teachings of old.

Local mullahs apparently added to the heightened emotions among Muslim believers in the region who were demanding the head of Talib Masih - a Christian who is charged with blasphemy against the Koran. A general strike was called and demonstrations began early in the morning on July 31. Mobs of Muslims marched on the Christian quarter in the village of Koriyan, blocking main roads and the local railway. When armed Muslim militants approached the locale, Christians opened fire. In apparent retaliation, Muslims then burned and looted Christian homes and places of worship. The Muslim mobs also attacked local police who tried to intervene.

The Obama Healthcare no one told you about

As a practicing physician I have major concerns with the healthcare bill before Congress. I actually have read the bill and am shocked by the brazenness of the government's proposed involvement in the patient physician relationship. The very idea that the government will dictate and ration patient care is dangerous and certainly not helpful in designing a healthcare system that works for all. Every physician I work with agrees that we need to fix our healthcare system, but the proposed bills currently making their way through congress will be a disaster if passed.
I ask you respectfully and as a patriotic American to look at the following troubling lines that I have read in the bill. You cannot possibly believe that these proposals are in the best interests of the country and our fellow citizens.

Amnesty Again Agitates for Abortion – This Time in Peru

(NEW YORK – C-FAM) The human rights organization Amnesty International has just issued a report on maternal mortality in Peru that promotes abortion in the pro-life nation while advancing controversial interpretations of international law.
The report, "Fatal Flaws: Barriers to Maternal Health in Peru," also acknowledges that lack of emergency obstetric care – and not access to abortion – is the largest contributing factor to high maternal death rates in the Andean nation, while listing obstacles faced by poor, often indigenous, women in gaining access to basic maternal and newborn care.
The overall thrust of "Fatal Flaws," however, is to claim a positive obligation by Peru and by extension other states to guarantee certain maternal health rights, which Amnesty then expands to include "therapeutic" abortion. In this Amnesty echoes the strategy of the pro-abortion Center for Reproductive Rights, which in recent years has pushed a "right to maternal health" that softens the abortion emphasis. Critics see this "motherhood and apple pie" approach as a Trojan Horse tactic designed to undermine resistance to terminating unborn life.
Amnesty asserts that "lack of access" to health care "is a violation of women's human right to the highest attainable standard of health." "Fatal Flaws" further claims that the Cairo Programme of Action adopted in 1994 at the International Conference on Population and Development – an "outcome document" that lacks binding international law status – commits states to providing "abortion to the full extent of national law." The actual Cairo text is less sweeping: it acknowledges that it creates no new rights, cautions that in "no case should abortion be promoted as a method of family planning" and affirms that any "measures or changes related to abortion … can only be determined at the national or local level according to the national legislative process," while also stating that where legal abortion should be safe.
Expanding on this, Amnesty faults Peru for failing "to respond appropriately and in a timely manner" to a non-binding "finding" of the Human Rights Committee – the compliance committee tasked with monitoring implementation of the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights. The committee declared that Peru violated the treaty when a public hospital denied the demand of a mother pregnant with an anencephalic baby for a eugenic abortion. That treaty's text, however, makes no mention of abortion, and there is no evidence that drafters intended to undo the domestic legislation of most nations, which either prohibited or severely restricted the practice at the time of adoption in 1966.
Founded in 1961 by a Catholic convert, Amnesty International previously maintained a neutral position on abortion, acknowledging as recently as 2005 that there exists "no generally accepted right to abortion in international human rights law." The group's subsequent pro-abortion advocacy has caused some to accuse the organization of betraying its founding principles.

Nations Reject Abortion Language at UN Geneva Meeting

(NEW YORK – C-FAM) Last week in Geneva, Switzerland, negotiations went down to the wire as the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) wound down its high-level meeting on health. After a marathon negotiating session that lasted until the wee hours of the morning, delegates adopted the Ministerial Declaration on "implementing the internationally agreed goals and commitments in regard to global public health" rejecting a push by the United States (US) and most European Union (EU) countries to include language that some interpret to include abortion.
When negotiations began on the declaration at United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York last month, delegations became embroiled in heated debates almost immediately over controversial language regarding reproductive health "rights," "sexual and reproductive health services" and "universal access to family planning." As the Friday Fax previously reported , the Obama Administration had proposed "universal access" to "sexual and reproductive health services including universal access to family planning."
By the time negotiations in New York wound down before resuming in Geneva, the US had apparently moderated its position and would have been willing to compromise, but delegates from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Estonia and France insisted on including "reproductive rights" language. The terms "reproductive health services" and "reproductive rights" remain highly contentious in UN social policy discussions because they continue to be misinterpreted by powerful non-governmental organizations and UN agencies to include abortion.
Despite concentrated efforts to conclude the negotiations in New York prior to the start of the Geneva meeting, delegations were unable to reach consensus over the contentious language.
Late night negotiations carried on in Geneva as delegations continued to battle it out over the "reproductive rights" language in the draft text. While the US delegation remained quiet on the reproductive health provisions, the EU remained divided as Poland, Malta and Ireland continued opposing the controversial language despite pressure from their colleagues.
Malta's ambassador Victor Camillari made a strongly worded statement that stressed that "the right to life extended to the unborn child from the moment of conception and that the use of abortion as a means of resolving health or social problems was a denial of that right, and therefore Malta consistently disassociated itself from, and considered invalid, all statements or decisions that used references to sexual and reproductive health, directly or indirectly, to impose obligations on anyone to accept abortion as a right, a service or a commodity that could exist outside the ambit of national legislation."
The most contentious language regarding "reproductive rights" was removed from the text and the final declaration was adopted by consensus. While some language regarding "sexual and reproductive health" made it into the declaration, the reference was limited to the understanding reached at the Cairo Conference on Population and Development and the Beijing Conference on Women, where it was agreed that no abortion rights were created and states made explicit reservations defining abortion out of the reproductive health and family planning provisions.
ECOSOC plans on holding a follow-up meeting next year to gauge how the impact of the declaration in changing public health systems.
